Temporary Food Permits
With the holidays upon us comes the thought of planning festivals, special events, benefits, fundraisers, holiday celebrations, and other occasions to serve food and/or drinks to the public. For public health safety reasons, food and drink stands must be inspected and licensed by the health department. They must also meet and follow the temporary food requirements, which can be viewed on the department's website. A temporary food or drink license must be obtained prior to opening for business. The cost of a single-use, up to 14-day continuous event, food or drink permit is $45; a multiple-use temporary food or drink permit is $55 and is good for the calendar year. There is no charge for temporary food permits for not-for-profit organizations. If you're planning an event or serving food and/or drinks at an event open to the public this year, please contact us.
Temporary Food and/or Drink Booths-Mobile Food and/or Drink Units
The Woodford County Health Department requires all temporary food stands be inspected and licensed, even if one's permanent facility holds an annual license. Anyone planning a temporary food event that is open to the public in Woodford County must contact WCHD two weeks before the event to schedule an open inspection.
